This course provides crane safety and awareness training for operators, riggers, signalmen, supervisors, and safety personnel.  Various types of overhead and gantry cranes and hoists used in general industry and construction operations are discussed.  A review of the pertinent OSHA and ANSI standards is included.  Students are provided with information concerning crane safety, crane operations, crane inspections and maintenance, pre-lift plans, sling types and inspection requirements, rigging components, and rigging safety.  The course is intended to provide the basic knowledge (both in breadth and depth) for those operating in and around cranes.
